Merry Christmas

It’s the big day. For many, it’s a day for family time, presents, and overeating. There’s nothing really wrong with family time and presents. Overeating, I’m not so sure about. I’ve lost a lot of weight and want to stay there. Maybe I’ll write about weight loss in a future post.

The thing that is often missed about Christmas is the real reason for the celebration. God sent His Son to earth to make a way for us to get to heaven. We can’t work our way there. Heaven is a free gift, not to be earned.

After spending some 30 or so years here on earth, Jesus died for us and rose from the dead to offer us that free gift of salvation. Again, there’s no work you can do or points you can earn to get that gift. But, you do have to accept the free gift that has been offered.

I accepted God’s free gift of salvation over 52 years ago and have never regretted it. Not only will I get to spend eternity with God, but I have had God’s help and guidance through my life here on earth. He has been wonderful to me, and I thank Him for that every day.

If you haven’t ever turned your life over to Christ, I urge you to do so. It’s the most important decision you will ever make. Far more important than college and paying for college. And if you don’t make the decision to live with Christ, you’re making a negative decision with dire consequences.
